Uniaxial Tensile Geogrid
Uniaxial tensile geogrids are mainly used for reinforcement in civil engineering projects, and primarily bear tress in longitudinal direction.
Uniaxial tensile geogrids are reinforced geosynthetic materials with a regular mesh structure, made primarily of HDPE or PP through a specific stretching process. They possess extremely high uniaxial tensile strength and low elongation, making them an ideal choice for reinforced soil retaining walls, steep slope reinforcement, and bridge abutment backfilling.
Unlike biaxial tensile geogrids, the molecular chains of uniaxial geogrids are oriented and concentrated in the direction of stress, giving them superior load-bearing capacity in that direction, while the lateral direction serves only as a connecting element. This design perfectly meets the mechanical requirements of uniaxial stress scenarios such as retaining structures. Our products can be manufactured according to GB/T, ASTM, ISO, and other standards, and all raw materials are pure new resin.
Production Process: Punching and stretching method, stretching injection molding connection and welding connection method.
The punching and stretching process mainly includes sheet extrusion, punching, longitudinal heating and stretching, and cooling and shaping.
The stretching injection molding process mainly involves preparing longitudinal plastic strips and stretching them, then pulling multiple longitudinal strips side by side to the mold according to the design spacing, and injection molding to produce transverse ribs.
Quality Control: The entire production process is monitored by automation. Strict factory inspections are conducted, to ensure that key quality control points fully comply with the standards.

- Reinforced Soil Retaining Walls:
- This is the core application scenario for uniaxial geogrids. The geogrid is laid in layers within the retaining wall fill, with one end connected to the wall panel and the other end embedded in the stabilizing soil. The tensile strength of the geogrid holds the retaining wall in place, resisting earth pressure. This forms a composite reinforced soil structure, significantly improving the stability of the retaining wall. It has shown remarkable effects in reinforced soil retaining walls for mountain highways, bridge abutments for high-fill embankments in urban areas, and reinforced retaining walls for railway subgrades.
- Steep Slope Reinforcement:
- For steep slopes with a gradient greater than 1:1, layered uniaxial geogrid laying can effectively prevent slope slippage.
- Soft Soil Foundation Treatment:
- When constructing embankments on soft soil foundations, laying the bottom layer of uniaxial geogrid can restrain lateral extrusion and improve bearing capacity.
- Bridge Abutment and Culvert Connections:
- Laying uniaxial geogrid in the backfill of bridge abutments and the top fill of culverts can reduce differential settlement and prevent "bridge approach slab settlement.
- Landfill Slope Stability:
- In landfill closure and covering systems, unidirectional geogrids are used to reinforce the final cover soil layer.
